Hi,

Thank you for including screenshots, it's always helpful.
Could you please also see if there is more information in Windows Event Log (application)? Also, what's the exact version version number of Windows XP? To determine please run command window and run ver command.

Best regards,

Hi,

Screenshot 2 of the post #3 indicates that "UWS HiPriv Service" failed to install because it's already there. That could happen if previous version of UWS failed to uninstall it correctly. To confirm whether that's the case, could you please reboot the machine and see whether "UWS HiPriv Service" is still among Local Services, and if so please also look in "Add/Remove Programs" in the Control Panel to see if there is a version of UWS still lingering installed.

Hi
I have re booted the Pc and looked Add/Remove Programs for UWS it is not there.

I have also looked in Task Manager at the processes which are running and the is also
no UWS process running.

The short cuts under programs are still there but because C:\Program Files\UltiDev\Web Server\
has been deleated none of them work.

Regards

Hi

I have searched the PC for all files with UWS in the name and below are the results.

Would it be safe to deleate these files and try installing again

Hello,

If UltiDev Web Server is truly absent from "Add/Remove Programs" then you may attempt cleaning it up manually. Before you do that please, let us know what files are still in "C:\Program Files\UltiDev\Web Server" and whether there are Services with names starting with "UWS" or "UltiDev". We are thinking you are dealing with failed/incomplete uninstallation of previous UWS version.

Many thaks for your reply

just to confirm when run the install program for UltiDev

It creates the the directorys \UltiDev\Web Server\ in
C:\Program Files
It copys several files into this directory.

Once the error takes place and when you click ok
the directorys\UltiDev\Web Server\together with all their content
are delieted.

I will now deleate the files I listed in my last post and let you know how I get on

Many thanks

pjmm

On further investigation the directorys \UltiDev\Web Server\
have not been deleated.

I attach a copys of the UWS.Installer.log.txt and AppRegTrace.txt files

The other files in this folder are named TBD18A.tmp,TBD18B.tmp,TBD186.tmp

Hi,

It looks like "UWS HiPriv Services" is still registered in the system, preventing installation. Please run Regedit and go to the "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services", and delete "UWS HiPriv Services" and "UWS LoPriv Services" nodes if they are there. After that please reboot your system and try installation again.

Please let us know if this has helped.
