I have installed the UltiDev HttpVPN Proxy Beta-2 (v. 1.1.15) version on a remote machine. The proxy service and portal are running on the same machine. After leaving it running for less than a day, it says that the host is not available. Even re-registering the site with the "Proxy Management Utility" does not help. If HttpVPN is uninstalled and then reinstalled, it will work again (but only for a few hours). What could the problem be?

Hi there!

Windows Event Log (Application) may have error entries that could shed some light on what's going on. Have you tried restarting HttVPN Proxy service and see if that helps? Also, if you could clean up Windows Event Log after re-starting HttpVPN, then you might be able to keep it small and export it to send us for analysis.

Best regards,
UltiDev Team.

The program has good potential, but only if is stable and remains up for extended periods.

Below are the entries from the event logs (from two separate machines - there might be duplicates).
I did try to restart the service (are there two? - I might have only tried one)
Maybe you would consider catching the exceptions so that the application does not go down.

Thanks

Hi there!

Thank you much for helping with troubleshooting.

There is only one windows service, but we think you don't need to re-install the product in order to recover it after the failure. We'd think restarting HttpVPN Windows service should do the trick.

We saw the remoting exception on some system recently, and we figured out how to work around it - the fix will be in the next build. But we found that on our test system the problem seemingly went away after we have installed all recent Windows updates.

We would also like to let you know that HttpVPN will get a major upgrade later this year or in Q1 2012. Its compatibility, among other things, will be dramatically improved.

Best regards,
UltiDev Team.

Hi there!

We made a test build of the HttpVPN service that includes potential fix for the remoting issue. We are testing it right now and if you would like to get it, please let us know.
